COVINGTON, Ind. -- Ival F. Dixon, 74, of Covington Route 2, died unexpectedly Sunday (Oct. 12, 1969) at 8:35 p.m. EDT in his home. Born July 17, 1895, in the Foster community, Mr. Dixon was the son of Henry and Nancy Ricketts Dixon. He married Hester E. Shuman on Feb. 24, 1916. She survives. Also surviving are a brother, Mont, of Covington; two sons, Ward of Kingman Route 2, and Dale of Georgetown; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and two sisters. A life resident of Foster, he worked as a carpenter and bridge superintendent for McCalman Bros. and O'Neil Bros. construction companies, Danville, before retiring nine years ago. He was a member of Local 269, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Services will be at 2 p.m. at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, the Rev. J. P. Meyers officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday afternoon and evening at the funeral home.--waw
